Description
This book serves as both a biblical defense of essential Christian doctrine and an exposition of the writings of the early church on those biblical doctrines. In a time when those essential doctrines called into question, and 500 years after the Protestant Reformation, this book aims to confirm the faith of believers when the faith is being attacked from all every directions by pointing to unchanging essential gospel truth. This book also aims to demonstrate this truth to those who oppose it or may not have heard it.

Summary
Starting with the foundation principles of the Protestant Reformation to essential truths about God, the Trinity, Jesus Christ, his death, resurrection, ascension and future return, this book demonstrates these truth from Scripture and their enduring impact throughout the early history of the church. The book then refutes some contrary doctrines and heresies by showing how they fundamentally contradict the Scriptures or undermine essential gospel truth.

Excerpt
"But what is the law of faith? It is, being saved by grace. Here he shows God's power, in that He has not only saved, but has even justified, and led them to boasting, and this too without needing works, but looking for faith only" (John Chrysostom, Homilies on Romans, Homily 7, commenting on Romans chapter 3:27. Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, First Series, Vol. 11. Edited by Philip Schaff).
