Summary
This novel by Dave Mckay is neither a sequel nor a prequel to his best seller "Survivors", but it is an equel. It tells the same story and covers the same period of time, but does so from a radically different Australasian perspective. If you read Suvivors first, then you will remember at the end of that book Rayford was accompanied by the other of the Two Witnesses, named Chaim. Listening and Survivors are essentially two sides of the same story, however this book takes place solely from Chaim's perspective, until the Two Witnesses meet in Jerusalem.

There was no way of knowing at the time that the changes Chaim was undergoing would one day give him a reputation as a monstrous killer. He was too busy trying to follow his conscience, and trying to answer to that of God within his own heart. Nevertheless, there were hints that what he was going through was pointing toward a destiny that was vastly different to anything he had expected before the fall of America.
