Description
Medicine is not a perfect science, not yet. Clinicians have been making decisions on management options for ages, based on their own experience and also on the recommendation of others, which were based on their own experiences in turn. Finally the concept of evidence-based medicine came and has taken root. However, good quality evidence is hard to come by. Hence there are quite a few areas left, where the clinician is a little confused about what to do. Often the gut instinct tells him or her to do something that turns out to be not the best option. Gynecology and Obstetrics have their own share of such dilemmas. This book is about such dilemmas. I have collected evidence painstakingly on 42 such topics. I am glad to say that definite recommendations could be made in almost all of them. Occasionally I could not find enough evidence, and was forced to make recommendations based on logical thinking. I have made that clear wherever I had to do that.
