Between 1916 and 1945 Valesca Reimann, from South Australia, taught Western classics, Latin and mathematics at Trinity College, Kandy, in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). Trinity College was founded on Christianity in a largely Buddhist, Hindu and Moslem country. Sinhalese and Tamil cultures added to the mix.
