Origins of the meeting At the meeting of the Steering Committee for the Joint WHO/UNLCEF Nutrition Support Programme (JNSP), held in December 1985, a number of pertinent and interesting questions regardine programming within the JNSP were raised by the members of the Committee. In order to further explore these questions, the Committee requested that a meeting be organized to facilitate their in-depth examination. This meeting, held at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland from 24 November through 1 December, 1986, brought together the national project managerti from 10 countries participating in the Programme. Thn Moderator was Dr Fred Sai from the World Bank whose wise contribution is gratefully acknowledged. A list of participants is appended to this report. This group held intensive discussions for five days and, then, held a joint session of one day's duration with the Steering Committee and representatlves of the Italian Government, whose generosity has made the Programme possible.
