Introduction The Fourth meeting of the Working Group on Leprosy Control (LWG) met on 8 July after the conclusion of the International Conference on the Elimination of Leprosy. The meeting was attended by the members of the Group, NGOs, invitees and WHO Secretariat and was Chaired by Professor Lechat (for the list of participants see Annex 1). The Chairman congratulated WHO on the outcome of the meeting, and also on the quality of the documents received. The meeting first reviewed the major conclusions of the Conference. Dr Noordeen said that the Conference had been a tremendous success; he was happy to have this strengthening of efforts towards leprosy elimination. He hoped that the Hanoi Declaration would be disseminated as widely as possible; it represented a very strong commitment on the part of all concerned. Response in terms of media coverage has also been good.
