By definition, commemorative is a term that offers several meanings and interpretations. Some consider commemoration as a celebration of a particular event that took place at a certain point in time. Others see it as an occasion for signalizing, recognizing, acknowledging or ennobling a person, an action or a particular development of outstanding significance, either regularly or occasionally. However, we in EMRO tend to understand it differently, and to celebrate our fortieth anniversary in a rather more instructive and constructive, non-ceremonial way.
