Top U.S. government officials regularly praise Pakistan and its leadership for their “fine efforts” in joint counterterrorism operations, most recently with the capture of suspected Al Qaeda leader Khalid Mohammed in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi on March 1, 2003.
