The WHO Regional Office for Europe, in collaboration with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, convened a Working Group on the Economic Aspects of Communicable Diseases, in Trier from 21 to 23 September 1981. The meeting was attended by 20 temporary advisers from 11 countries and 2 members of staff of the Regional Office. The meeting was opened by Dr B. Velimirovic, Regional Officer for Communicable Diseases, on behalf of the Regional Director. Dr G. Kothmann welcomed the participants on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. Professor W. Krug was elected Chairman of the meeting, and Dr M. Sanecki sewed as Vice-Chairman. Mr M. Parsonage acted as Rapporteur.
