Introduction: Common network technologies are based on standardized and established Internet technologies. The Internet technologies provide mechanisms and tools for presentation, application development, network infrastructure, security, and basic data exchange. Due to the presence of already installed trading roles' systems with their own interfaces (Internet shop, order management, payment, billing, and delivery management systems, or financial institute's legacy systems), IOTP has been limited to the common external interface over the Internet. However, some of these internal interfaces might be also standardized for better integration of IOTP aware components with of the existing infrastructure and its cost effective reuse.
