The Greatest Achievement in Life
Bio:
Since 1959 I have met 19 mystics, of five faiths, in 12 countries:
In Chicago a Nobel astrophysicist; in New York a Vedanta spiritual director/scholar and the chairman of an American global bank; in Kyoto a professor of philosophy; in Hong Kong a Zen abbot and Cistercian monk on Lantau and a Quaker missionary in Victoria; at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand a Theravada monk; on Bali a Hindu priest; in Kathmandu a Vajrayana abbot; in Lucknow a sadhu/scholar; in Delhi the Vice President of India (later President); in Teheran a Sufi shaykh; in Cairo a professor of political science (and shaykh); in Jerusalem a member of the Knesset, a professor of history and a Greek Orthodox monk; in Copenhagen a retired police inspector; in Bath, England an Anglican Bishop.
Introduction
Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1939. Moved to the Chicago area to study and work in 1957. U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966 in New Jersey. Married Rose Kimura and relocated to California in 1970.
Personal
The only "Ron Krumpos" on the Internet; aka Roland Krumpos and, in my ebook, R.D. Krumpos. 25 trips to Asia, 21 to Europe, four to the Middle East, and extensive travel in North America. Visited 45 countries with three or more stays in 25 of them. We usually flew in first class and stayed at the best hotels in each city at no cost to us. Now we have to pay.
Occupation
Very active retirement, after a career in sales management for international airlines and luxury hotels. Rose was a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines for nine years and now has 30 years with Neiman Marcus. She attended LACC and College of Marin, graduating with a degree in retail management. Our photo was taken in 2009.
