The WHO Scientific Group on Cell-Mediated Immune Responses, which met in Geneva from 8 to 14 October 1968, Tras opened on behalf of the Director-General by Dr. A. M.-~I.PAYsE: Assistant Director- General. Dr. PAYNEno ted that in recent years an increasing number of diseases have been recognized in which it is not possible to correlate the presence or level of humoral antibodies with the clinical picture or degree of resistance. WHO had accordingly convened the meeting in order that the Group evaluate the role played by cells in the causation of and in immunity to those diseases
