As part of its programme on the prevention of alcohol abuse, the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization held a working group on intervention strategies for the prevention of alcohol abuse in collaboration with the Government of the Netherlands. The working group was a follow-up to previous activities concerned with alcohol-related problems specific to various settings and different segments of populations. It also included previous experiences concerned with alcohol-related problems in primary health care.
